General ledger reporting
I would like to have more reporting options in General Ledger
We have included the ability to replace the stock reports with custom-designed reports, which means that you can now default the reporting to your customized reports directly, rather than running a special report from outside the Denali modules.
We also are adding more custom formats to be available for purchase on our Cougarmtn.com shopping website!
The A/R is still posting in detail in the general ledger even with A/R checked on Bank Reconcile and general ledger to post in summary. This is making the GL detail very long and hard to verify the BR and GL without adding the detail in the GL by hand. I have reported this when we went on Denali about 2 years now and it's still not fixed
One report type that I would like to see is the ability to summarize accounts by segments. So we have a cash account 120 with each department getting its own second segment .01 or .02 or whatever. I would like to do summery reports based on just the first segment, so I would have a one line for 120 instead of 120.01 120.02 120.03..... and just to make things difficult, summarizing by any of the segments, not just the first one, would be best. This kind of summarizing would be useful in all of the modules.
It would be very beneficial if you could easily customize reports or create ad hoc reports. The reports offered don't always provide the information you'd like or in the format you'd like to see it. In order to create a custom report now you have to contact Cougar Mountain or pay a third party vendor to create. More user friendly report options, please.
I would love to see a GL Audit report, laid out horizontally, easily taken into excel. One line per transaction with the following fields. Other fields added might be useful but may convolute the report. Basic fields needed: GL Account #, Tran Date, Description, Debit Amount, Credit Amount, Balance. Output formats in CSV or Word with Landscape layout.
Most of the reports (not just GL) are all multi lines per record. This makes them very difficult to read and difficult to use for auditing. Please make most reports available in a csv format, one line per record. Other reports could utilize the Landscape layout to reduce the number of lines per record and make them easier to read.
I would like the GL to post in Summary like the BR when entering payments in AR- Even with GL checked to post in summary it posts in detail - I have reported this previously to no avail
